Too Old to Know Better – Too Young to Care
You step out on a journey, hand in hand,
’til yesterdays become the here and now,
and looking back you sometimes wonder how
you left your tiny footprints in the sand.
A pebble that you found along the way:
mere chipping from the granite of our life;
fashioned with our pleasure, with our strife
stands prized and polished on this special day.
All smiles, but solemn, and she stands and says
‘I do’ they fly away as man and wife;
together from the random roll of dice
as always is, the gods have had their way.
Remember, as you stand and make your vow:
the dreams that we once had are your dreams now.
